Learn Finnish

Matti Erpestad will be teaching both intermediate and advanced Finnish classes this Fall. Matti is a native Duluthian with dual Finn/American citizenship. He has studied in Finland and has taught courses at University of Minnesota, Duluth. Matti has a long history of teaching Finnish at Nordic Center previously and is a student favorite.

JATKO Finnish will be offered on Mondays, September 5th through October 24th from 5:15 to 6:45 PM. It is an upper level Finnish language course for students who have previously taken at least four Finnish courses at the Nordic Center. Tuition is $105. The text will be the same as used in prerequisite classes. Students who do not have the textbook (Suomen Mestari 2) should contact Matti at least two weeks prior to the start of class.

Intermediate Finnish on Wednesdays, September 7th through October 26th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The intermediate course is for students that have completed two previous Finnish courses at the Nordic Center. Tuition is $105. The text will be the same as used in prerequisite classes.

Swedish Conversation: Välkommen att tala Svenska med oss! [Welcome to speak Swedish with us.] The Svensk Samtal (Swedish Conversation) group meets at 1:30 p.m. on Mondays at First Lutheran Church located at 1100 E. Superior St., Duluth, MN. Park in the lot to the East of the church and enter via the RED double doors. Open to anyone interested in speaking Swedish with both native speakers and Swedish-American speakers.
